まちなみ逍遙

Tsukishima (literally “moon island”) ,and Tsukuda is the area located in Tokyo, Japan.
Tsukishima is an island formed of reclaimed land completed in 1892, using earth from the dredging work performed to create a shipping channel in Tokyo Bay.
At this time, it was designated an area for iron-working in accordance with the Fukoku Kyōhei National Policy.
The name (literally “moon island”) was originally written using the characters “築島” which can also be read “Tsukishima” but mean “constructed island”.
It is currently known for its large number of restaurants serving the local speciality, monjayaki.
And now, in this area,and at the site of Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries,high-rise apartment buildings are constructed one after another. But the other hand, traditional alleys,lanes still remain.

もんじゃ焼きの発祥の地，そして，佃煮の発祥の地として知られる，東京都中央区月島，佃界隈の路地裏の表情です。
月島は，1892年（明治25年）の「東京湾澪浚（みおさらい）計画」により，東京湾から浚渫した土砂を利用して埋め立てられたそうです。佃大橋通を挟んで，月島と佃は接しています。
佃エリアの大半を占めていた，石川島造船所の工場が操業停止となった跡地に，「大川端リバーシティー２１」と銘打って，超高層マンション群が次々と建築され，その開発の波は，今やその周囲の月島などのエリアを次々と飲み込んでいます。
しかしながら，その高層ビル群の谷間には，まだ第2次世界大戦前からの長屋などの古い町並みや，船溜まりなどが残っており，新旧が調和した不思議な空間を形成しています。
