まちなみ逍遙

This street is famous for the double Udatsu ( a fire-preventative structural element used in residential houses) .
Merchants competed with each other to attach splendid udatsu to their houses as an indication of their financial power.

この道は，二重卯建の街並みとして，まちなみ散策ファンの中では有名です。
商人は競って商家に立派な卯建を建造することで，その富をアピールしていました。
