まちなみ逍遙

Itsukushima is an island in the western part of the Inland Sea of Japan, located in the northwest of Hiroshima Bay. It is popularly known as Miyajima, the Shrine Island.
Itsukushima is famous for the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
According to records, the shrine was established in the time of Empress Suiko. The warrior-courtier Taira no Kiyomori gave the shrine its present form.

厳島，通称宮島（安芸の宮島）は，古くから島そのものが信仰の対象となっていた景勝地です。また，海上交通の拠点としての役割も果たしていました。
厳島の中心，厳島神社は，海上に浮かぶ朱の大鳥居と社殿で知られていますが（生憎，訪問時は干潮でした）、平安時代末期に平清盛が厚く庇護したことによって大きく発展しました。厳島神社は，弥山（みせん）の原始林とともに、1996年にユネスコの世界遺産に登録されており，多くの観光客で賑わっています。
