穏やかな入江をのぞむ舟屋のまちなみ、伊根 / Ine, funayas are built at the water’s edge.
Two-storied funayas line the bay and are built at the water’s edge.
Although located in the Sea of Japan, Ine Bay opens to the south while Aoshima Island acts as a breakwater at the mouth of the inlet leaving the bay calm.This coupled with a low tidal range and the deep waters of the bay make it the perfect place for the funayas.(refer to Ine-cho tourist association)

穏やかな水をたたえる伊根湾の入江に並ぶ舟屋のまちなみを、東京から日帰りで訪れました。
風情にあふれ、郷愁あふれるこのまちなみが、後世に長く伝えられることを祈ります。
