まちなみ逍遙

五條は，古くから，紀州街道，伊勢街道などの交通の要衝として栄え，さらに江戸時代には，幕府の天領（直轄地）として，大名の代わりに代官が置かれ，重要な地域として繁栄したそうです。
今でも，江戸時代の商家などが立ち並ぶ姿を見ることができます。

Gojo flourished as an important transportation hab on Kisyu-Kaido Road, Ise-Kaido Road,and so on ,since ancient times.
In the Edo Period, Gojo became a tenryo (a shogunal demesne), and local governors were appointed instead of daimyo.
Still now, the street is lined old houses which was built in the Edo period.
