Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG, DBAG or DB) is the German railway company, a private joint-stock company (AG) with the Federal Republic of Germany being its majority shareholder with its headquarters in Berlin.

Deutsche Bahn describes itself as the second-largest transport company in the world, after the German postal and logistics company Deutsche Post / DHL, and is the largest railway operator and infrastructure owner in Europe. It carries about two billion passengers each year.

Deutsche Bahn (literally “German Railway” in German) came into existence in 1994 as the successor to the former state railways of Germany, the Deutsche Bundesbahn of West Germany and the Deutsche Reichsbahn of East Germany.It also gained ownership of former railway assets in West Berlin held by the Verwaltung des ehemaligen Reichsbahnvermögens.

ドイツ鉄道　（Deutsche Bahn AG，略称：DB）は、ドイツの首都ベルリンに本社を置くドイツで最大の鉄道会社です。ドイツ全土に鉄道網を持つのみならず，ヨーロッパ有数の技術・輸送力を持っており，世界的にも影響力のある鉄道企業のひとつとされています。
ドイツ鉄道は旧西ドイツ国鉄（DB, Deutsche Bundesbahn：ドイツ連邦鉄道）と旧東ドイツ国鉄（DR, Deutsche Reichsbahn：ドイツ国有鉄道）が1994年はじめに統合、民営化された際に誕生したDBグループの中核会社です。ただし，民営化後も依然として国家の所有となっており，実際には株式会社化されたのみで，株式の売却による実質的な民営化は今後の課題となっています。
