Casablanca ( ad-Dār al-Bay?ā? (lit. the White House), original name in Berber:Anfa) is Morocco’s largest city as well as its chief port.
It is also the biggest city in the Maghreb region.
Casablanca is considered the economic and business center of Morocco, while the political capital city of Morocco is Rabat.
Casablanca has two medinas. One is the new medina ( Habbous ),and the other is the old medina.
The Old Medina (the part of town pre-dating the French protectorate) attracts fewer tourists than the medinas of cities like Fes and Marrakech. However, it has undergone some restoration in recent years. Included in this project have been the western walls of the medina, its skala, or bastion, and its colonial-period clock tower.

カサブランカは，モロッコ随一，いえ，アフリカ・マグレブ地方随一の大都市であり，モロッコ王国では，政治的機能はラバトにありますが，経済機能・ビジネス機能はカサブランカにあります。
カサブランカは，ビルやお洒落な建物が立ち並ぶ近代的側面のほかに，城壁に囲まれた２つのメディナ（旧市街）があります。すなわち，新市街（ハッブース）と，旧市街です。
旧市街は，正直清潔とは言い難く，観光客の姿はあまり見ませんが，新市街は，地元客が中心で商人がボッタクることも少ないので，観光客は安心して買い物をすることができます。
