Townscape of Uno-machi,Japan.
In 2009,it was esignated as the Nation’s Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings.
During the Edo period,it belonged to Uwajima Province, and flourished as the collection center of agricultural products,Japanese cypress wood and so on in Uwa Basin, and as the temple town of Genkozan Meisekiji-temple(the 43rd temple of Shikoku Pilgrimage).
Now,it is a quiet town with a wealth of nature, and many tasteful houses still remain as it were.
